#ROW80 Check-In

Here’s my obligatory check-in post in which I really have nothing to say. I haven’t finished any scenes. I’ve spent some time in my world, but it’s been intermittent and I haven’t gotten much actual writing done.

School has finally started and things are much better. I’ve been catching up on several things and feel generally saner.

Since I don’t have much to say today, let me see if there’s anything on my interesting reading list…

The Changing Landscape
Self-described aspiring writer, Shannon Dittemore, takes a look at industry changes of the past year, as well as some of her favorite reading discoveries. It’s a lovely post, not just because she mentions Hush Money, although that doesn’t hurt. The Year of the Reader (Found via a nice note on my Facebook Page.)

Like Jane Eyre?
Now, when I was a schoolgirl, I could handle reading I could never get through today. Just could not do it. It was then that I read Jane Eyre and I did like it, though it wasn’t a fave. Liked the movie better, and the idea of it ever better than that, I think. But that’s neither here nor there. I never read Villette, but I still loved this VS. article on the basis of style alone. I wish I wrote like this. Jane Eyre vs. Villette. (Found via an LJ friend whose style I also admire.)

Blog-hopping? Here’s your linky.

  1. I’m freakin’ glad you’re feeling saner. 😉

  2. I think the fact that school’s back in session is going to really lower your stress level. Then you’ll be a regular writing fool! LOL

  3. This week started out well, but has progressed downward since Wednesday for me. School seems to shake things up a bit. We’re allowed to have our off days, right?

    Here’s to better days ahead.

  4. Sorry to hear you’re also not fully immersed in your writing. I find leaving the world for too long makes it hard to remember the atmosphere and details.

Thanks for posting the link of the year of the reader.
